On June 11, the Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) Pathways team hosted a celebration of learning event to recognize the hard work of Level 1 Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) students over the past school year.
OYAP carpentry, hairstyling, and machining students, their families, and local employers and stakeholders were invited to the TLDSB Muskoka Education Centre for an evening of recognition and networking.
Students and families had a chance to hear from a student apprentice, Georgian College Bracebridge campus manager, James Fielding, the Mayor of Bracebridge, Rick Maloney, and an employment and training consultant from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development.
“It’s inspiring to see our OYAP students pursue careers that will shape and build our community,” said Georgian College Bracebridge campus manager, Fielding. “Their accomplishments showcase the true power of collaboration between educators, employers, and the community.”
