- School Council Update: Thank you to everyone who attended our first meeting! Our next meeting is
Wednesday, October 28th at 6:30 PM in our library or via Google Meet (link also available on our
website calendar). Congratulations to our elected leadership team for the 2026/2027 school year:

Secretary: Lia Alsop - Morning Announcements: Parents can now access our daily morning announcements anytime by
clicking the “Morning Announcements” button on the right side of our school website. - Principal Presentations: Following September’s classroom visits regarding friendship (Grades 1 to 3)
and our Code of Conduct (Grades 4 to 8), I am speaking with Grades 4 to 8 this October about
understanding and reporting bullying. Students will also learn how to use the “Safe at School”
reporting button on our website. - Hot Lunch Orders: Orders are due every Sunday before the upcoming week.
- Bus Visits: I enjoyed joining our students on Bus 406 for the afternoon ride home on Friday and look
forward to riding our other three buses in the coming weeks! - Early Reading Screening: Begins this week for all Senior Kindergarten to Grade 2 students.
- Spring Math Celebrations: Daily routines are underway to build speed, confidence, and accuracy.
During warmer months, whenever three classrooms reach strand mastery, the school earns a
15-minute early outdoor break with music. Ask your child about Spring Math! - Upcoming Dates (check out the school calendar on our website for current dates):

– Intermediate Boys and Girls Soccer at FTPS after school on Tuesday, October 6th

– Junior-Mixed Soccer at FTPS after school on Wednesday, October 7th
– Fire Drill #3 – Thursday, October 8th
– Thanksgiving – Monday, October 12th – No school
– Cross Country Meet at Ken Reid – Thursday, October 15th
– Pumpkin Patch Field trip – K-3 – Friday, October 16th. Participating parents require a valid VSC.

– Intermediate Girls Soccer tournament at FTPS – Friday, October 23rd
